About the Water Industry Commission for Scotland

The Water Industry Commission for Scotland is the economic regulator of the Scottish water and sewerage industry. We are a small office of approximately 20 staff based in Stirling. We are seeking graduates to work as an analyst in our team. As an analyst you will work with colleagues on wide-ranging projects relating to economic regulation and the development of a competitive market. This will encompass developing strategy, carrying out economic and financial analysis, and preparing briefings to important stakeholders. We are a small team, so your contribution will be key.

Much of the work that we do is innovative in the field of economic regulation, so analysts are expected to bring fresh thinking and a creative approach to solving complex problems. You will subject your ideas to rigorous scrutiny before making recommendations. You must also be able to combine taking a strategic overview of an issue with detailed scrutiny of the information available.

We offer a highly competitive starting salary, a commitment to professional development and excellent on-the-job training – with opportunities for your work to influence board members, industry practitioners, academics, government officials.
